Essential Functions

Promote a positive environment that promotes water safety and fitness.
Arrive with ample time to prepare for scheduled class. Start and end class on time.
Actively teach class in and out of the water providing clear directions, adequate demonstrations while providing motivational support. Be available for class participants before and after class to answer questions or discuss fitness plans.
Develop positive relationships with members and provide support and guidance.
Ensure medical information is provided by participants along with consent forms as appropriate.
Understand and ensure emergency procedures are followed in the event of an emergency.
Organize class equipment after class. Report damaged equipment to supervisor when necessary.
Maintain records as required for class participants, feedback, and fitness goals.
Complete incident or accident reports when necessary.
Attend all trainings and meetings as required.
Maintain all certifications.

Qualifications

Must have the following current certification: CPR for the Professional Rescuer.
Be at least 18 years of age.
The ability to interact with co-workers, members, staff and the general public in a professional and effective manner.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly require to swim, stand; walk; sit; reach with hands and arms; balance; stop kneel or crouch; and talk or hear.
This job requires the employee to speak distinctly for interacting with member’s poolside. Patience to deal with high volumes of people. Sound judgment dealing with daily issues.
