Position Summary
This position supports the work of the Y, a leading non-profit committed to strengthening community through youth development, healthy living and social responsibility. This role provides childcare service to youth members during operation hours.
Essential Functions
- Provide safe and quality care for children of our members and participants.
- Assist in maintaining a safe, clean, and learning environment for children in the childcare space.
- Assist in maintaining current reservation system.
- Follow current childcare guidelines.
- Assist in providing age-appropriate activities for children.
- Develop professional communicative relationships with parent members who utilize the program.
- Act as a role model for the values of caring, respect, honesty, and responsibility with others, especially children at the Greater Burlington YMCA.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Professional experience in the childcare field, required.
- Patience, understanding and acceptance required to interact with youth participants and members.
- Generate a positive experience and attitude for youth participants, members, and co-workers.
- Ability to interpret, understand, articulate and enforce rules, policies and guidelines.
- Maintain professionalism at all times.
