This role will interact with new and existing members to help in achieving health and well-being goals, while creating a welcoming environment for all members of all backgrounds and abilities.
Schedule: The schedule for Wellness Center Attendant allows for up to 20 hours of scheduled shifts any time throughout the hours the Greater Burlington YMCA is open.
What You’ll Do:
Support Members’ Goals: Answer members' questions and provide guidance to help them achieve their health and wellness goals, ensuring they feel supported every step of the way.
Stay Informed: Maintain a strong working knowledge of wellness equipment and wellness floor rules to offer accurate and helpful information to members.
Foster Connections: Build genuine relationships with members, helping them connect with each other and the YMCA community. Introduce new members to group exercise classes that align with their health and well-being goals.
Share Knowledge: Use tools like handouts and schedules to increase members' understanding of wellness programs offered by the Y, ensuring they have all the information they need to succeed.
Keep Our Space Safe: Maintain the cleanliness and proper functioning of equipment according to the schedule, creating a safe and welcoming environment for everyone.
Be Prepared: Follow YMCA policies and procedures and be ready to respond to emergencies when necessary.
Stay Engaged: Attend staff meetings regularly to stay connected with the team and up-to-date with the latest information.

Qualifications:
- High school graduate or equivalent preferred.
- Previous experience with diverse populations preferred.
Work Environment & Physical Demands:

The physical demands of Wellness Center Equipment require the employee to lift up to 50 lbs required to organize and clean fitness equipment and stand for up to 3 hours.
