POSITION SUMMARY:
Are you looking to jumpstart your career in Human Resources? The Greater Burlington YMCA, a leading non-profit, is seeking an HR Intern to support our Human Resources department. In this role, you’ll manage key functions, including our Applicant Tracking System (ATS), assist in recruitment processes, and play an active role in ensuring smooth HR operations.
SCHEDULE:
This role requires working eight to ten (8-10) hours per week, spread over at least three days. The internship runs from November to April, with the possibility of continuing based on performance and organizational needs.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Oversee the day-to-day operations of the Applicant Tracking System (ATS), ensuring all candidate records are up to date.
- Forward candidate references to hiring managers and track all hires in the hiring worksheet.
- Review and approve part-time offer letters, ensuring compliance with organizational standards.
- Send part-time offer letters and manage the offer acceptance process.
- Collaborate with department directors to open job postings, ensuring timely and accurate listings.
- Manage third-party job boards, ensuring job postings are listed correctly and updated as needed.
- Input and receive background checks for new hires, coordinating with vendors to ensure timely processing.
- Train new staff in ATS functions as necessary.
- Oversee the onboarding process for all employees.
- Send exit interview surveys to departing employees and track responses for HR analysis.
- Assist with additional HR functions, including employee engagement activities, compliance audits, and administrative support.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
